Dive deeper into Vietnam’s history with this 2-day journey exploring the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the mountain town of Khe Sanh, and the iconic Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hue to A Luoi to Khe Sanh
We follow Highway 49 to the top of Ma Oi pass for swimming at Mau waterfall and visiting the Van Kieu ethnic minority. After lunch at A Luoi town, we spend the afternoon riding off-road through mountains on the Ho Chi Minh Trail, visiting ethnic minority villages. We visit the Khe Sanh compass base before checking into a hotel in Khe Sanh.
Day 2: Khe Sanh to DMZ to Hue
We ride East along Highway 9, passing the Dakrong bridge, Rock Pile, and Doc Mieu base. We cross the former DMZ and arrive at the Vinh Moc tunnels. We stop for lunch and a swim at Cua Tung beach, then drive along the countryside coastline through rice fields and farms, meeting locals before arriving back in Hue.
